Combining advisory expertise with growth capital
Brad Brown is the managing director of Bradford Brown Capital Partners (BBCP), a private investment partnership that invests in search funds and early-stage venture companies. Over the past fifteen years, he has invested in over 50 operating companies.
He has professional expertise in SaaS, cloud, AI, big data, and fintech.
He focuses his board work on tech-enabled companies, and is on the board of several private growth buy-outs including Blue Sky Network, ISI Telemanagement, Attainia, and CloudX. In addition, BBCP invests in a limited number of earlier-stage tech companies. Presently the fund is invested in four companies where Mr. Brown is an advisor: Unqork, BlueVoyant, Afiniti, and OneVision.
Mr. Brown is also a Senior Partner Emeritus of McKinsey & Company, where he was a senior leader of the Technology practice, and the global leader of the Big Data practice. He worked with clients to implement strategies around growth, automation, analytics, and cloud. He also worked in Fintech and InsurTech. For seven years, he led the Global Insurance Technology practice, and is well known across the industry.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Mr. Brown was a partner in the Stenbeck Group of companies, where he was a member of the board of several companies and a working member of the top 30 executives worldwide. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Arthur D. Little’s North American information technology practice, with management and P&L responsibility.
Mr. Brown is also a Trustee of Connecticut College, and chairs the Committee on Trustees, and the Committee on Advancement.
Mr. Brown is a graduate of Dartmouth College. He also received a Masters in Computer Science from UPenn, and an MBA from the Wharton School. He is a season ticket holder of the New England Patriots.
